Spring Break at Zion National Park!

For Spring Break this year we decided to go to Zion National Park. David couldn't remember ever going there and Brad & I love Zion and have been on a lot of hikes there already. We knew David would love the hikes they offer since he loves to hike the mountains near our home every Summer.

Brad told David that he wanted to hike Angels Landing this trip. I was not excited about this because I knew that I couldn't do it for the FEAR I have of heights! I decided to go with them as far as I could until it got too scary for me. These pictures are on our way up....

We all hiked the 2 miles to the top where I stopped and let Brad & Dave go on ahead without me. It was another 1/2 mile up and you have to hold on to chains because of the steep cliffs on either side of you! I enjoyed my views from where I was and met a darling girl from American Fork. We got talking and I found out that she is a teacher at Westfield Elementary School right by our home. Her husband went further on the trail without her also for the same fear she had as me! We were both happy to see our husbands (and Dave) return! :)
After the hike to Angels Landing, we stopped for lunch at a Mexican restaurant. It was yummy. And don't you worry...those of you that know that Brad & I are on a strict diet-- We both had salads. :)

We saw a few turkeys on one of our hikes. They must have really liked this area because we didn't see any on our other hikes.

This was the last hike of the day. It was around 6 ish and we were getting a little cool and sore from our new shoes. Dave & I had gotten new shoes for this trip. I know, not the best idea but we didin't have any and hadn't thought of it until we were getting ready for this trip. We didn't get any blisters but there were just some small sore spots. We had done a lot of hiking and we were ready to relax.
The next day we drove back up to Cedar City and went to an SUU Alumni game for Emily. They played some girls that had gone to SUU and had graduated. Of course Emily's team beat them!! ;) It was such a cold and windy day that I was glad when the game was over! We drove home that night so we could attend our church meetings the next day.

Sounds like a blast! My Mom was the same way about Angels' landing. She is scared of heights but my Dad finally got her to do it!
